About ScamEish

Stop and think before a scam makes you go Eish!

ScamEish is a community-first South African cybersecurity awareness resource. It helps individuals, families, and teams practise recognizing social engineering red flags across WhatsApp, SMS, social media, email, and banking interactions before financial loss occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ScamEish free to use for individuals?

Yes. Individuals can use the 15-scenario assessment, Education Hub, and Emergency Triage resources without a fee.

Do you store or log my banking passwords, PINs, or OTPs?

ScamEish training scenarios should never ask you to enter real passwords, PINs, OTPs, or banking credentials. Do not enter real credentials into a training simulation.

How does ScamEish help organizations with security awareness?

ScamEish provides practical scenario-based security awareness exercises. Organizations remain responsible for assessing their own risks and meeting their legal obligations; using ScamEish alone does not establish POPIA compliance.

How do I respond to an active scam or suspected fraud?

Use the Emergency Triage checklist to take immediate containment steps. Contact your bank through its official app or the number on your card, and use official channels to report suspected fraud.
